Art San Diego 2011, the city’s largest contemporary art fair, is set to take place September 1-4 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. The event features 69 leading galleries and solo exhibitions from the world’s most exciting new artists, as well as art installations in locations city-wide. For those who are looking for a more casual art experience, Balboa Park’s Art Mart offers guests the chance for guests to peruse unique displays in a relaxed outdoor setting. The Maritime Museum of San Diego is currently featuring an exclusive exhibit called “Three Voyages to Paradise,” which includes the works and memorabilia of Captain James Cooke, Herman Melville and Paul Gauguin.
