Art Expressions Gallery will be featuring the latest works by Chinese-American Artist, Jian Wang, in his latest exhibition "Fluid Discourse." Jian Wang, a prolific painter working in oils, gives a surreal mood his works while grounding his subjects in realism. Art Expressions Gallery Artists Robin Hall and Jeff Yeomans will be featured at the Oceanside Museum of Art in an exhibition entitled "Impressions of Southern California," which will run from May 25 through July 11, 2010. For more information, click here or visit www.oma-online.org.

Featured Artist: Jian Wang

Jian Wang, a Sacramento-based artist who was born in China, paints traditional subjects while tempering realism with 20^th century abstraction. Most recently, Jian Wang was selected to exhibit a 20-Year Retrospective at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing during the 2008 Summer Olympics. Always drawn to art even in childhood, Jian Wang had the opportunity to come to the United States in 1986 to study painting under Sacramento-based artists such as Wayne Thiebaud, Fred Dalkey, Jack Ogden, Manuel Neri, Roland Petersen and David Hollowell. Jian Wang describes his own painting style as a dialogue between himself and his subject. Using lush, impasto-style brushstrokes in vibrant colors, Jian Wang’s prolific abilities allow for a broad repertoire of subjects including landscapes, nudes, portraiture, and still-life. Jian Wang has exhibited his paintings all over the world, ranging from gallery shows in New York and London and museum exhibitions in China. His works are featured in more than 300 public and private collections worldwide.
