Original Art - Viviana Lombrozo
Born in Mexico City, but currently residing in San Diego, Viviana Lombrozo is an artist prolific in various media including sculpture, painting, printmaking, book arts, and textiles. With a keen understanding of language and symbology, her work often explores vehicles of human communication through papery, text-like forms that feel foreign, yet reference something vaguely familiar to the viewer. For her work to function, translation is key: “Ideas are central to my art,” says Viviana Lombrozo, “I recognize that materials simultaneously have meaning and produce meaning.” These materials, along with form and color, comprise her visual lexicon, allowing her to make a “connection between language, time, history, and memory.”
