Philipp Scholz Rittermann was born in Lima, Peru and began photographing at age twelve. His family moved to Europe in 1969, where he spent the next thirteen years in Germany and Spain. In the early eighties he moved to the United States, where he resides today. Philipp Scholz Rittermann has been producing fine art black and white photography for over thirty years. His work includes panoramic sequences, landscape, urban and industrial photography, as well as a wide array of annual report and advertising photography. Having been featured in over thirty solo and fifty group exhibitions, Philipp Scholz Rittermann frequently gives lectures and teaches workshops. He has been published in numerous books including Philipp Scholz Rittermann: Navigating by Light, produced by the Museum of Photographic Arts in 2001.
